Evernote turns 10. And it has given itself a new look for its birthday. The elephant with its proverbial memory still greets us. However, the colors and fonts have been slightly adjusted, and the user interface has been tidied up a bit.
My Digital Memory
I’ve been an Evernote user from the very beginning. There’s no alternative. Yes, I’ve tried everything, including OneNote. Nothing can match the elegance of Evernote. The organization through tags. The quick, super-efficient search. The fantastic clipper that allows me to collect (and simultaneously comment on) everything everywhere. The efficient merging of notes. And last but not least: the swift and stable synchronization! (Seriously, Microsoft, what on earth are you doing with my OneNote notes that it always takes so long?)
The Killer Feature
When I run a Google search in the browser, all matching Evernote notes are also displayed right away. How often have I searched for something on the web only to realize that I had already stored it in my virtual memory (aka Evernote) months ago. This is simply ingenious and has been helping me with personal knowledge building and management for 10 years.
Therefore
Thank you Evernote and heartfelt congratulations on your anniversary!
Nevertheless
I have one wish (and thousands of other users with me): When will you finally manage to offer an editor capable of outlining (headline hierarchies) that also understands Markdown? Structured notes would actually be more important to me than a new app icon. You’ve now done the redesign, so you can expand the editor.
